What are your personal experiences with deja vu?
Q. Just wondering because I find it fascinating and I've heard some insane cool stories about my friend's experiences with deja vu and would like to know yours, if you have any experience with deja vu.

A. My friend rang me up and asked if I wanted to see a movie with her. I agreed and asked which one. She said the movie title, and I suggested another because I'd already seen it a few years back. She said I couldn't of, because it was a new release. Strangely, I could remember watching it and all the details, such as what I was wearing, how I was sitting and where I was watching it; and the fine details of the movie as well as the characters. It was just like another memory. During the movie I could predict exactly what would happen, as I'd already 'seen' it.

What were your experiences in graduate training in neuroscience?
Q. I'm interested in getting my PhD in Neuroscience, and I'd like to know what the experience is like. I'd like to have an idea of what to expect in terms of workload, environment, curriculum, and all the other things I should know about but I just don't know yet. I'm aware that these things will naturally vary among universities, so I'd just like to know what things were like for you, or how it would be in general. I'd also like to get some preparatory reading done. I tried reading The Computing Neuron and it just went way over my head. The most advanced reading I've had is my biopsychology textbook. Can you recommend anything to bridge the gap? I'd like to read up on all the subfields of neuroscience. I'm looking forward to hear about… [cont.]

A. You can get a better idea by talking to grad students in these programs at your local university. You can also get a look at the recommended reading list for various universities. Sometimes these are Online. If you see the same materials in a number of programs, read that material first, because it seems a safe bet.

Why would an adult suddenly start having paranormal experiences?

A. What causes experiences perceived to be paranormal? Are you prone to fantasy? Are you prone to find fanciful, magical explanations for things? Are you more artsy than science-y? Do you have a pre-existing belief in the paranormal unsubstantiated by evidence or experience? All of these attributes contribute to a person perceiving paranormal events.
